Researchers, artists, educators and activists working together

Wayang Ecology has grown out of a collaboration between Royal Holloway University of London (UK) and Institut Seni Indonesia in Yogyakarta, along with an international team of researchers, artists and performers. The research project – Enabling Wayang to Contribute to Environmental Discourse in Indonesia – was supported by an Institutional Links grant from the British Council and Newton Fund.

Watch the Puppetry and Ecology Zoom discussion and book pre-launch. Recorded in October 2020, this online event brought together an eclectic group of puppetry performers, makers and researchers to explore how puppetry can be used to raise environmental awareness and share climate change education.
